From time to time we get requests for research to be done using Scar Tissue. Most often this comes in the form of questionnaires which members can fill in and return to whoever's doing the research, but sometimes it's more general with broad questions being asked, then responses honed.
Scar Tissue welcomes research and we're happy to allow questions, surveys and questionnaires to be posted on the board, but we do ask that you adhere to the following rules:
If you are using this site and its members for research purposes you must be completely open about your agenda. You don't necessarily have to explain this in your post, but you must contact either Alison (alison@scar-tissue.net) or myself (wolfbane@scar-tissue.net) to let us know so that we can post a request for participants.
You will need to provide us with the following details:
Title of research project;
Names and contact emails for all researchers and their credentials
Names of the university/organisation;
A guarantee that all and any info will ONLY be used for the purposes of this particular project and;
that if anyone wishes to see the results it will be made available to them.
You will need to ask everyone's permission and if someone does not wish to participate they should not feel pressured to do so, or feel that anything they say here will be used against their wishes.
You will need to get any participants to email you a disclaimer detailing exactly what they are comfortable with you using:
name/alias;
age;
location;
methods;
mental illnesses/issues;
medications;
etc. and if anyone initially agrees and then changes their mind - their information must not be used. _________________
